The presence of trees has a stress relieving effect on people, they provide shade and the breeze is cool when there are trees around. Trees enhance the aesthetics of both private and commercial properties. However, construction activities can lead to damage or even kill some trees due to inappropriate practices. Some projects may inflict obvious injuries to trees such as broken branches or damaged bark, and the worst damage often happen underground. The roots are among the most vital parts of a tree because it is responsible in providing nutrients and water to the tree, giving it energy. And obviously, the roots help keep the tree anchored on the ground. And because roots are so important, it must be protected at all times especially if it is in the path of a construction activity. Tree excavation is among the options in preserving a tree if a construction work should happen in its original place. Safe excavation around trees should be properly handled. Tree excavators should have minimal invasive impact on the health and vitality of trees. TYPE OF EXCAVATORS Tree excavators are used to dig up tree roots during removal. Most tree workers use excavators because it gets the work done much faster because it is large and can handle huge trees, rather than digging up a tree manually. There are two types of excavators: mini excavators and large excavators. Mini tree excavators are small and compact, which is suitable for removing smaller trees near residential areas. Because of its smaller size, it can easily move around in smaller areas such as front and backyards. Mini tree excavators are fitted with loaders, jackhammers and earth movers. It is usually operated with a control panel that houses gears of various functions such as digging, jack hammering and earth moving modes. Large tree excavators on the other hand are high powered and have fiercer digging power than the smaller machines. It can be used for various excavating purposes in residential, commercial, industrial, or even in farms. The large tree excavator is usually powered by a diesel engine. Just like the smaller tree excavators, it features a jack hammer, loader and earth mover, but it can handle bigger jobs because it is more powerful. TYPES OF EXCAVATIONS Tree excavation also have variants, three of which namely hydro excavation, air excavation, and root crown excavation. Hydro excavation is often employed to safely remove a tree in the vicinity of electrical lines, underground plumbing, and optical cables. Hydro excavating is a safer process for tree root systems. Air excavation, on the other hand, uses compressed air to loosen the earth's soil which is then vacuumed up into a debris tank. Air excavation is usually employed to expose underground utilities safely and as for tree excavation, it helps expose tree roots for safe tree removal. A root crown or root collar excavation uses compressed air to remove the soil at the base of the tree allowing a tree worker to identify and remove roots. It is suitable on young trees because it is considered as a therapeutic process. If you would like to receive a FREE estimate on tree excavation, give Las Vegas Tree Trimmers a call. It's good to know that there are different types of tree excavations such as hydro excavation, which is used when removing a tree that's close to electrical lines or optical cables. I'm also planning to have one of our trees removed because it's close to electric lines and one of its branches might snag on it. I'll make sure to find a tree removal service company that offers this excavation type.
